Duboisi Cichlid ( Tropheus Duboisi)
General: A very hardy and pretty fish that comes from Lake Tanganyika in Africa.
Size: Up to 5."
Housing: Should be housed in an Lake Tanganyika Cichlid community tank with an alkaline pH and plenty of rocks. Tank size of 55 gallon or more is best. Please see our community tank section.
Compatibility: These fish are lively and aggressive fish and are not suitable for a traditional community aquarium. Keep the tank well stocked with similar sized African Rift Lake Cichlids.
Feeding: Feed 2-3 times a day. Feed plenty of greens. They accept flake foods, algae based flake foods, plankton, krill, brine shrimp, frozen bloodworms, Tetra Bits, Marine Pellets and cichlid pellets. A group of live plants will provide a diet supplement. Occasional live worms or brine shrimp is beneficial.
Description: A very colorful cichlid. Juveniles have white dots on their body, making a pretty, spotted coloring.
