Threadfin Acara Heckelii Cichlid

(Grows to 9")  A very impressive looking, and mild-mannered South American Cichlid.  It is that is closely related to the Geophagus genus.   In a strict sense, this fish is not really considered an "Eartheater".  It is a cave-brooder and takes two to three years to reach sexual maturity. Adults should be kept in large tanks in groups of 4 or more.  (Acarichthys heckelii)
