Snowflake Moray Eel

(Grows to: 18")  Caution- sharp teeth.  A popular eel, well suited for aquarium life. Compatible with appropriate sized tankmates and other eels. May require careful hand feeding in active community tanks (use forceps and wave food in front of them.) Provide hiding spots and a tight cover. Feed frozen krill, silversides, clam, live crayfish.  Do not mix them with shrimp or crabs, as they will be eaten. (Echidna nebulosa)

* Name: Named for the yellow and dark brown patterns on its body, which are vaguely reminiscent of snowflakes.
* Native Range:  Indo-Pacific
* Size:   Up to 3ft in the wild usually 18" in aquariums
* Behavior:  It is not as shy as many morays and will usually poke its head from its hiding spot and sometimes will make an occasional foray into the open
