Royal Gramma Basslet

A popular fish with striking colors.  Front is purple, back is yellow with dark oval blotch at front of dorsal fin.

* Tankmates- they are territorial and will fight with dottybacks and other basslets  They are peaceful toward other fish.
* Housing- provide live rock for hiding.  A reef tank is ideal.
* Feeding- small meaty foods, flakes, marine pellets, and asst frozen foods, an omnivore
* Scientific Name- Gramma loreto
* Range- Tropical Western Central Atlantic
* Breeding- these fish have been bred in captivity.  The males makes a nest and guards the egg mass until hatching.
