A very active schooling fish. They can be challenging to keep so we do not recommend them for beginners.
Tank Mates: They can be mixed with other active brackish water fish of similar size, but can nip fins of slow movers; Some tank mates may include: Monodactylus, Rainbowfish, Large Mollies, Bumble Bee Goby...
Tank Conditions: They are best kept in a brackish water aquarium. (3-4 teaspoon of sea salt per gallon).
Temperature 76-82. They are active swimmers, and require a minimum of 40 gallons. They swim in the middle to upper water levels. They will eat live plants. They can be messy eaters so make sure you have a good power filter, and do regular partial water changes.
Feeding: Feed a variety of dry and frozen foods with some greens. They are omnivorous.
Range: From Indo Pacific.
They are also called the Spotted Scat. The Green Scat and Ruby Scat are color morphs of the same species.
