Pencil Urchin

(Reef:-No) These hardy urchins are excellent algae grazers, however they may scrub live rock of nearly all life as they are known to eat sponges, tunicates, coraline algae, anemones, and corals.  They are primarily nocturnal and will mostly hide in rock formations during the day.  Do not try to dislodge them from rocks as you may break spines and injure the animal.  (Eucidaris tribuloides)
