Peacock Bass Cichlid

Peacock Bass  (also called Ocellaris Cichlid)    (Cichla ocellaris)

An interesting predatory fish that requires a large tank.  Also call Ocellaris Cichlid

*  Adult Size:  36"

*  Housing:  Requires a large tank of 180 gal or more.  Standard water conditions.  pH 6.5-7.5   temp- 72-80

* Tankmates:  A predatory fish that will eat anything it can swallow.  We have kept them in large tanks with large Oscars, Gars, Plecostomus, and other large Cichlids.

*  Feeding:  A carnivore,   feed frozen fish based foods,  live feeders.

This fish was legally introduced into Florida as a game fish.  These fish are not true bass but are actually Cichlids.
