Glass Catfish ( Kryptopterus bicirrhis )
An interesting looking catfish that swims in the middle water layers and likes to stay in groups.
Grows to: 6"
Hobbyist Level: Intermediate.
How Many? Needs to be kept in groups of at least three, will be more active in large schools.
Housing: (Temperature- 74-80), (pH 6.5-7.5). Provide clean water, bushy plants for hiding, and some open swimming space.
Tank mates: Needs to be kept with other peaceful community fish. They are suitable in tanks with small, peaceful tetras, but should not be mixed with large active, and more aggressive species.
Feeding: Flake food, bloodworms, brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, other meaty frozen foods.
Natural Habitat: Asia: Mekong and Chao Phraya basins; Malay Peninsula, Sumatra and Borneo.
