Tadpole   (Rane Catesbeiana)

Grows to 3"

Natural Habitat:  Eastern North America and can be found as far north as Canada and as far south as Florida.

Bullfrog tadpoles mature much more slowly than tadpoles of other species. They can remain in the same state for as long as one to two years before they actually become adult frogs.

While adult Bullfrogs are predatory and carnivorous and will eat almost anything they can fit into their mouths, Bullfrog tadpoles are herbivorous and tend to eat little more than algae and other plant life found in or around water.

In a pond the tadpole will survive by eating algae out of the pond.  They will live through the winter months as long as the pond they are in is 18" deep or more. When they grow legs they will need a floating plants, or
logs.

In an aquarium they should be housed by themselves.  Not for community tanks.  They should be fed algae wafers or frog and tadpole pellets.  Once they grow all four legs they need a place where they can come out of the water.

Bullfrogs should be fed crickets and live foods

Temp: 65-80.
