Blind Cave Tetra

(Grows to- 3.5")(Temp- 75-80)(How many?- 2 or more)  An active fish that can be mixed in community tanks with similar  size active fish.  They may nip fins of slow moving fish.  Feed flakes, brine shrimp, small pellets.  They are omnimorous and require some greens  They swim in the middle water layers.  This interesting fish is blind and senses things through a sense of smell.  It is a cave dwelling species from Mexico.  ( Astyanax fasciatus)

An interesting fish also known as the Mexican Tetra.  The "blind cave" version of this fish is a cave dwelling species that has evolved to have no eyes.  The eyes have skin grown over them to protect them from being damaged in the dark confines of caves.  The fish use their lateral line to sense what is around them and find their way around in caves.
